I have been an educator since 1982, when I earned my bachelor's degree in elementary education at Seattle Pacific University in Washington State. I earned my Master's degree in Curriculum in the Content Areas from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1988. I have worked in both Washington State and Colorado, teaching every elementary grade except kindergarten and third grade. My teaching license includes an endorsement as a Gifted and Talented Specialist.
This is my 18th year at Jefferson Academy. (If you count my two years as a parent volunteer before I was hired, it's my 20th!) My oldest son, now 27, started here in fourth grade and graduated from J.A. Senior High School. My youngest son, now 25, started with Mrs. Ryberg in kindergarten. Both of my sons had Mrs. Welch as their sixth grade teacher.
We are a long-term J.A. family!
